The view
Ocean and city lights from the great room, the kitchen, and the primary suite. The main floor sits 15'+ above the street, so the view clears the rooftops opposite.
The Residence
Three bedrooms plus an office that can be a fourth, 3½ baths, and 2,433 square feet in the main residence, with a 377-square-foot junior ADU with its own full bath, and a 600-square-foot roof deck. Rebuilt from the foundation up, 2025–2026.

At 2335 Sunset Drive, the main living spaces face the Pacific and open to the outdoors. The redevelopment brings together warm materials, a roof deck above the three-car garage, and a comprehensive reconstruction of the structure and building systems.

The main floor holds three bedrooms, an office, and the principal living spaces. The great room opens to the outdoors through a nine-foot bifold and French doors, the kitchen's casual dining area through two eleven-foot bifold systems, and the primary suite through a ten-foot French door with sidelites. All three face the ocean under ten-foot cove ceilings. Roughly 620 square feet of black aluminum glazing across 25 windows and doors, about a quarter of the floor area, brings daylight into the rooms, while the elevated main floor keeps them separated from the street.
The main level brings together the living spaces, three bedrooms, and an office. The entrance, three-car garage, and junior ADU occupy the street level.

The owners' background is in construction, and it shows in the selections. Wide-plank wire-brushed white oak floors run through the principal rooms and bedrooms. Walls meet floors and door jambs with shadow-gap reveals rather than casing and baseboards, so the rooms read as clean planes. Interior doors are seven feet tall and solid-core, hung on matte-black lever hardware. The kitchen is quartersawn white oak cabinetry with plywood boxes, topped in Taj Mahal quartzite that runs from the counter to the ceiling behind the range. Bathrooms feature large-format tile, with a freestanding soaking tub in the primary bath.

Between the two levels, a Viewrail floating staircase turns ninety degrees on a single black-steel stringer, with white oak treads matched to the floor and LED lighting under each tread. It sits in front of a single twelve-lite fixed window 7'-3" wide and 17'-6" tall, bringing daylight into the stairwell, with integrated tread lighting highlighting the stair after dark. The wall it climbs is faced full height in the same Evolve stone veneer as the exterior.

The attached three-car garage, added in the redevelopment, has 13'-6" of clear interior height under three eight-by-eight doors with transom windows, and a two-stop dumbwaiter that carries groceries from the car to the kitchen counter. Above it, a 600-square-foot roof deck in TimberTech Weathered Teak with a rod railing gives the house a second outdoor room with the same view as the great room. Tucked into the plan is a 377-square-foot junior ADU with its own full kitchen, full bath, and independent heating and cooling. The Floor Plans page shows it two ways: as the studio it is, and furnished as a media room.
The reconstruction extends from foundation and structural work to the systems serving the house. The scope includes:

Two eleven-foot bifold door systems connect the casual dining area to the deck. The great room opens through a nine-foot bifold system and French doors, while the primary suite has a ten-foot French-door assembly with sidelites.

Ten-foot cove ceilings in the great room, the kitchen and casual dining area, and the primary suite give the principal rooms their volume.
